BREEAM, the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method for buildings and large scale developments, sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design. It has become the de facto measure used to describe environmental performance of buildings and communities and can be used for both new build and refurbishment projects.

Liquid applied waterproofing systems, such as those manufactured by Sika Liquid Plastics, achieve up to an A+ rating when used in a warm roof construction, which is the highest possible rating. The ratings are available on the BRE Green Guide to Specification website, or can be downloaded here …

Although the Green Guide to Specification forms the basis of construction material ratings for BREEAM assessments there are numerous other areas that the Sika Liquid Plastics roofing systems can contribute towards an assessment.  For more information or for a copy of our BREEAM Information Pack please click here.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. To receive LEED certification, building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification – Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum. Prerequisites and credits differ for each rating system, and teams choose the best fit for their project.

Sika Liquid Plastics have been involved in a substantial number of LEED projects and have a full understanding of the contribution our products can make towards this type of certification. For further information please click here.
