Sika Limited will host a series of repair and refurbishment ‘deminars’ around the country, designed to provide technical insights and specification support to building owners, architects and building surveyors nationwide. The events are in response to feedback from specifiers about the value of technical presentations and product demonstrations in helping them to keep up-to-date with the latest building product technologies, buildability considerations, whole life cost and performance benefits.

Neil Humphries, Northern Regional Manager at Sika Liquid Plastics explained: “Many of the architects and surveyor partners that we work with regularly are not fully aware of the wider Sika product and technical offer. Consequently they miss opportunities to work with our experts to develop an integrated specification with complementary systems that will enhance building performance while optimising the available budget and simplifying the supply chain.

"This series of deminars aim to showcase that joined up approach by outlining the products and technical services available from Sika for the refurbishment and maintenance of reinforced concrete buildings with flat roofs.”

The deminar roadshow begins in Manchester on Tuesday 17th April at Lancashire County Cricket Club, moving to Everton Football Club in Liverpool on Thursday 26th April, followed by The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead on Thursday 3rd May and, finally, Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey on Tuesday 15th May.

Each event will include expert presentations on liquid roofing systems and concrete repair, protection and corrosion management, along with a liquid roofing demonstration for roofs, walkways and balconies, as well as concrete repair, anti-graffiti systems and structural strengthening solutions. Beginning at 9.30am for a 10am start, each session also includes a Q&A slot, complimentary lunch and networking opportunities, closing at 1pm with an optional venue tour.

Nic Collins, Area Technical Manager, responsible for refurbishment products at Sika added: “Within Sika, we have more than 100 years’ experience with concrete repair and 50 years’ expertise in cold-applied roofing systems for flat roofs, balconies and walkways. “These events provide an opportunity for architects and surveyors to benefit from that wealth of knowledge and technical know-how to ensure that they are well-equipped to specify best fit combinations of products to match project, client and budget requirements.”

All events are free to attend and delegates can secure a place at their preferred location by pre-registering at www.sika.co.uk/surveyorevent. Further information about the events is also available from the online registration page.
