Flat Roofing Solutions for Schools & Academies

Sika Liquid Plastics has been manufacturing flat roofing and waterproofing systems for over 50 years and have always put the the building occupier at the forefront of our technology and service. Our flagship product Decothane, has been the liquid applied roofing system of choice for schools, academies and education facilities for many key reasons.

One of the main factors in the specification of Sika Liquid Plastics on schools, academies and education facilities, is the fact that all of our products and systems are cold applied. Unlike other traditional membranes such as felt, asphalt and other bituminous products no hot works are carried out on site during installation. This is of vital importance to any occupied building, but is of particular importance for schools, due to nature and volume of occupants. It also means that your roofs can be installed or refurbished whilst occupants remain within the facilities.

In addition, Sika Liquid Plastics has recently launched ‘Decothane Ultra’, a low odour product that has been developed with patented technology, which has been tested by Odournet a team of independent leaders in sensory analysis, and scientifically proven to be low odour. This system ensures that during installation, we can reduce the risk of complaints regarding odour.

The points on the map above highlight a few project case studies and are not indicative of all works in this sector.

All Saints Catholic Academy, Mansfield

All Saints Academy is a one and two-storey building on a sloping site with a roof area of 2,425m2 featuring several roof lights. With Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) funding secured, Sika Liquid Plastics, advised on the technical specification for the project to address the specific requirements of the building and Decothane Ultra was specified, providing a low odour, cold-applied solution without any disruption to lessons or health and safety concerns on site..
