Case Studies

Cotton Exchange, Liverpool

The building is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II listed building, so there was a very stringent processes in place in relation to the installation and finish of the roofing system. The building itself was a very unusual shape, and was very close in nature to the shape of historical air-raid shelters. This meant that Sikalastic 618 was a fantastic solution to deal with the curved nature of the roof, due its flexibility when being applied to uncommon shapes and details.

4 Debenhams, Basildon Case Studies English pdf 0.29 MB
Debenhams, Basildon

Short description

The roof was originally covered in mineral felt and had air conditioning units scattered over the 5000m2. However, the mineral felt had failed; this had caused water ingress into the building below from areas on the roof where standing water had formed. To identify these areas, a thermal image was taken of the roof. The areas that had saturated insulation had to be replaced prior to coating.
