Academy Funding Support

The Government recognised that many UK schools are in need of vital maintenance repair that, if not addressed could result in the temporary closure of areas, if not the whole school on health and safety grounds. For this reason, the ESFA has funding streams in place for academies,or applying academies, to tackle these issues before they escalate. The Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) is just one of those fundingstreams which we have successfully helped schools to secure

Sika Liquid Plastics has been helping Academies, Converter Academies and Colleges gain funding through the Continued Improvement Fund (CIF) and the Education Funding & Services Agency (EFSA) to help improve their buildings. This has been in strategic partnership with Chartered Building Surveyors who are education specialists and who work nationwide.

CIF replaced the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund which awarded more than £409 million to 1235 Academies for 1388 projects for the 2014-2015 financial year. The following year CIF awarded £383 million to 1127 Academies and Sixth Form Colleges for 1407 projects for the 2015-16 financial year. This round of funding was four times over-subscribed. The demand for this funding is getting greater and greater each year.

Condition Improvement Fund (CIF)

The Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) provides you with the opportunity to secure additional funding from the Education Funding Agency (EFA) for improvements top your existing building. Now is the time for you to act in order to secure the required funding for 2016-17 academic period. We can help you secure the funding for your project.

Education Funding Agency (EFA)

The Education Funding Agency (EFA) is an executive agency of the Department of Education which administers education revenue and capital funding for learners between the ages of 3 and 19, or up to 25 years for individuals with special educational needs or disabilities. The funding supports building and maintenance programmes for a variety of education establishments including: mainstream schools, 16-19 sixth-form colleges and free schools.

Free Schools

All Free Schools receive all or part of their funding from the Education Funding Agency (EFA), which is part of the Department for Education. However, different types of free school receive different amounts.

Mainstream Schools

Mainstream schools are funded on an individual pupil basis, they receive this funding direct from the EFA. Depending on the local authority this will determine the amount of funding that will be received for each pupil, however the average across the UK is £4000 per individual pupil.

16-19 (Sixth Form College)

For colleges, sixth form schools and high education establishments the funding is calculated using the Education Funding Agency (EFA) funding formula, which takes into account various factors such as student numbers, student retention, higher cost subjects, disadvantaged students and regional location costs.
